Join us for an informal service for Vietnam Veterans' Day
2023 marks the 50th anniversary of the end of Australia’s involvement in the Vietnam War.
To commemorate this milestone, the Walkway will host an informal service at our Memorial Centrepiece this Friday, 18 August at 10.30am.
The service will pay respects to the almost 60,000 Australians who served during the 10 years of Australia’s participation. This included all three arms of the defence service, as well as civilian nurses, doctors and other medical professionals plus pilots, aircrew and others who provided support for Australian personnel (and Vietnamese civilians) in Vietnam.
Sadly, 523 Australians lost their lives in the decade from 1962 to 1972.
All are welcome to attend the Walkway for this service, where individuals may lay a flower or wreath at the Centrepiece. Those attending should arrive by 10.15am. The service will conclude by 11.00am.

Lest we forget.
